What is Hypnosis?


Hypnosis is a very natural state. We go into hypnotic states every day - those times when we are daydreaming or imagining i.e. watching TV or immersed in a really good book or even driving along the road.


Everyone experiences hypnosis at least twice a day - in that dreamy, relaxed state just before sleep, and the relaxed state after awakening from sleep, just before you open your eyes.


In this very peaceful and pleasant state the conscious mind relaxes but is still very aware. The subconscious mind becomes more accessible and more readily accepts positive suggestions and acts upon them, helping you to you to make changes easily and effectively.


You are, however, not asleep or unconscious. You are in an altered state of consciousness in which you 'let things happen' through your subconscious mind rather than trying to make them happen with your conscious mind.


Who can be hypnotised?


Anyone who is willing and open can be hypnotised.
All you have to do is follow instructions and your mind and body will respond.


Might people reveal secrets under hypnosis?


People in hypnosis are able to hear the hypnotherapist's voice, remaining at all times in control of themselves. They will not do or say anything that they would not choose to do.


How many sessions will I need?


Hypnotherapy often produces dramatic results in as little as one session. However every person and every problem is different, and so is every course of treatment. Although hypnosis is a reasonably fast-acting therapy it still takes time to deal with long standing problems. The number of sessions you will need depends on you, your situation and what you want to achieve.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

When you have a disturbing thought or memory it triggers a disruption (blockage) in your body’s energy system which is experienced as physical or emotional pain.

EFT involves a simple process of tapping on stress relief points while you focus on what is disturbing you. This helps to release the blockage so that your body can come back into balance. Once your body is balanced you are no longer triggered in painful ways – the memory is still there but the emotional charge is gone.

EFT is like acupuncture except that, instead of needles, you use your fingers to tap on certain meridian points on your body as you focus on what is upsetting you.

This simple process helps to rewire your emotional patterns so that you are no longer triggered in painful ways.


How does EFT work?


The tapping helps to release the blockages that are created when you have, or think about, an emotionally upsetting event. When these blockages are released, your emotions come back into balance.

EFT helps you to let go of what has been troubling you and leaves you with a wonderful calm feeling.
